One of the prominent spiritual leaders and a social reformer of the 19th century was Ramakrishna Paramhansa. He advocated the social reform movement that took place in Bengal and was also the devoted guru/ mentor of Swami Vivekananda. Gadhadhar Chatopadhye was the original name of Ramakrishna Paramhansa who was born in Kamarpukur village of Hoogly district, West Bengal on 18th February 1836. Khudiram and Chandramani were his parents who were very poor. He neither liked going to school nor earning money. He was interesting in meeting various monks and loved to be amidst nature all the time. He was an iconoclast since childhood.
